Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our friendly management team members will be there to receive you with a warm welcome. If you are arriving Nepal for the first time, Kathmandu can feel overwhelming at first, the crowds, traffic, and fast-paced hustle might surprise you. But as you begin to explore, you’ll soon discover that beneath the surface lies a city full of rich culture, history, and hidden gems waiting to be appreciated. The blend of ancient temples, colorful markets, and spiritual ambiance makes Kathmandu a unique and unforgettable place. From the airport, we’ll drive you comfortably to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we will arrange a short briefing to prepare you for your trek. If you arrive in the morning or early afternoon, we’ll organize an orientation meeting in the evening. During this session, our company representative and your guide will give you a final briefing about the trek, answer any questions, and make sure you’re ready for the journey ahead. If your flight arrives later in the day, we’ll hold the briefing the next morning after breakfast or at evening after full-day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

Day 3: Drive to Ramechhap, Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610m) / Duration: Drive: 5-6 hrs, Trek: 3-4 hrs

Early in the morning, we take a packed breakfast and leave our hotel for the drive to Ramechhap Airport. On the way, we stop for a quick roadside breakfast before continuing our journey. Once we reach Ramechhap, we board a small aircraft for an early morning flight to Lukla. These planes don’t have assigned seat numbers, so we recommend choosing a seat on the left side or just behind the pilot to enjoy the most stunning panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and the dramatic Lukla runway as we approach. After a short, scenic flight, we land in Lukla, where we meet our porters and enjoy a warm cup of tea. We also take a short time to explore Lukla, take photos near the iconic runway, and soak in the mountain atmosphere. Then we begin our trek. Today’s walk is easy, we pass through charming Sherpa villages, cross suspension bridges, and walk through peaceful forests. Along the trail, we see colorful prayer flags and Mani stones etched with Buddhist prayers. After about 4 hours of gentle hiking, we reach Phakding, a beautiful riverside village.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) / Duration: 7-8 hrs

Today’s journey takes us deep into the Khumbu region as we trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant heart of the Sherpa community. The trail begins gently as we follow the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several exciting suspension bridges draped with prayer flags. As we continue, we pass small settlements and enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where our permits are checked. From here, the trail gets steeper. One of the highlights is crossing the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge, the highest and most famous in the region. The final climb to Namche is tough but rewarding, with switchbacks through a pine forest. If the weather is clear, we may catch our first glimpse of Mount Everest in the distance. Namche Bazaar appears like a hidden amphitheater carved into the mountainside. It’s the perfect place to rest and get a feel for the unique blend of Sherpa culture and mountain life. After the long climb, we’ll be glad to explore the colorful town and rest up for tomorrow’s acclimatization.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche / Duration: 5-6 hrs

To help our bodies adjust to the altitude, we spend today acclimatizing in and around Namche Bazaar. While we don’t trek far, we still climb to a higher elevation and return to sleep lower, which is an effective way to prevent altitude sickness. After breakfast, we set off on a short hike to the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest hotels in the world. From here, we enjoy stunning panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the beautiful Ama Dablam. We then continue toward the traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung, where we visit the local monastery and the school built by Sir Edmund Hillary. From Khumjung, we make our way to Khunde village, home to the famous Khunde Hospital, a facility established with Hillary’s support and specially focused on treating high-altitude illnesses. After exploring the area, we return to Namche Bazaar for a restful afternoon. Those who wish can visit the Sherpa Culture Museum or enjoy some quiet time at a local café with fresh coffee and pastries. Today’s slower pace allows us to absorb the beauty of the Khumbu region while supporting safe acclimatization for the days ahead.

After some time, we reach Sanasa, where we leave the main Everest Base Camp trail and take the quieter route leading toward Gokyo. The path climbs steadily through rhododendron and fir forests, with a good chance of spotting Himalayan pheasants, musk deer, or even mountain goats along the way. We arrive at Mong La, a small settlement on a scenic ridge, where we stop to rest and enjoy the views. From here, we descend briefly to reach a stream but do not cross it. Then we begin a steady climb once again, with trees gradually thinning as we move higher. Finally, we reach Dhole, a peaceful village surrounded by wide open hills and crisp mountain air.

The trail rises gently, offering beautiful views of Cho Oyu, Kangtega, and other nearby peaks. As we walk, we enjoy the quiet atmosphere, fluttering prayer flags, and the soft sound of yak bells in the distance. We reach Machermo by lunchtime and have time to rest and eat before heading out on a short acclimatization hike. In the afternoon, we ascend about 200 to 300 meters above the village, taking it slow and steady to help our bodies adjust to the higher altitude, then return to Machermo to relax for the evening.

After reaching Gokyo village by lunchtime, we take time to explore the scenic surroundings of the lake, enjoying the peaceful beauty framed by towering snowy peaks. Following lunch at Gokyo, we go on a short acclimatization walk, climbing about 200 to 300 meters higher where we can enjoy breathtaking views of the massive Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal, before returning to Gokyo to rest for the evening.

Day 10: Trek to Zongla (4,800m) via Cho La Pass (5,368m) / Duration: 7-8 hrs

Today is one of the hardest days of our trek, as we cross Cho La Pass, the second of the three high passes. The climb to the top is steep and can be slippery in places, so we take our time and use trekking poles for balance and support. As we ascend, the landscape becomes more dramatic, and the views from the top are absolutely breathtaking, with snow-capped mountains surrounding us in every direction. After taking in the incredible scenery at the pass, we begin a careful descent into the valley. The trail down is rocky and requires focus, but the beauty of the landscape glaciers, icy ridges, and rugged peaks makes every step worthwhile. We continue trekking toward Dzongla, a small and peaceful settlement tucked beneath towering cliffs. The altitude remains high, so we drink plenty of water, eat well, and take it slow to stay strong and healthy.

011

Day 11: Rest Day in Zongla

After a challenging day crossing Cho La Pass, today is a rest day in Dzongla. It’s important that we give our bodies a break and save energy for the next high-altitude challenge ahead. We can take easy walks around the settlement or simply relax at the lodge, enjoying the peaceful mountain surroundings. We spend time chatting with fellow trekkers, soaking in the calm atmosphere, and appreciating the beauty of the Himalayas. This rest day is valuable as it helps us recover and prepare for the next stage of the journey, which brings us closer to Lobuche Peak. You can use this day to rest, drink plenty of fluids, eat nourishing food, and recover your strength.

    Overnight in Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 12: Trek to Lobuche High Camp (5,450m) / Duration: 5-6 hrs

Today we leave the peaceful settlement of Dzongla and begin our journey toward Lobuche High Camp. The trail starts off gently, moving through rocky alpine landscapes with beautiful views of surrounding glaciers and towering peaks like Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Kangtenga. As we gain elevation, the path becomes more rugged, and we notice the air growing thinner. Although today’s trek isn’t very long, we move slowly and take regular breaks to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the dramatic scenery. Upon reaching Lobuche High Camp, we settle into a tented camp. For those preparing to climb Lobuche East, our climber guide will check safety gear, review climbing techniques, and go over important instructions for summit day. Even for those not attempting the summit, this day remains very special, as we find ourselves surrounded by some of the world’s highest and most iconic Himalayan peaks. We enjoy a warm meal, rest early, and prepare for the next big adventure that awaits in these high mountains.

Day 13: Lobuche East Summit (6,119m) and Return to Lobuche (4,910m) / Duration: 10-12 hrs

Today is a big day, we start very early, usually around 2 or 3 AM, with headlamps on. After a light breakfast, we begin the ascent with our climbing guide. The trail starts on rocky terrain and gradually transitions into snow and ice as we gain altitude. We use crampons, harnesses, and fixed ropes for safety. The climb is physically and mentally demanding, requiring strong focus, steady energy, and determination. As we approach the summit, the world opens up to spectacular views—Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and many other Himalayan giants stretch out before us. Reaching the summit of Lobuche East is an unforgettable experience. Standing atop a Himalayan peak, surrounded by towering mountains, is something we’ll always remember. After soaking in the views and capturing some photos, we carefully begin our descent back to Lobuche.

Day 14: Reserve Day for Lobuche East Summit

Today is a reserve day in case of bad weather or other delays during the Lobuche East climb. Weather in the Himalayas can be unpredictable, and having this extra day increases the chance of a safe and successful summit. If the summit was not possible yesterday, we will make a second attempt today, starting early in the morning again. If we already reached the summit on Day 14, we can enjoy a relaxed day at the lodge in Chhukung. This is a great time to rest our legs, catch up on sleep, or go for a short walk in the surrounding area. The landscape is dramatic and beautiful, with views of rocky ridges and towering snowy peaks. It's also a chance to reflect on our journey so far and prepare for the final stretch of the trek, which includes Island Peak Base Camp and Island Peak. Staying at high altitude still requires care, so we should continue drinking plenty of fluids, eating well, and moving slowly. Whether climbing or resting, this day is important for our health and the overall success of our adventure.

The trail is rocky and follows the edge of the Khumbu Glacier. Along the way, we’ll see ice towers and amazing glacier formations. When we finally arrive at Everest Base Camp, it will feel like a dream come true. We’ll be standing at the foot of the world’s highest mountain! Although we can only see some glimpses of Everest from Everest Base Camp, the surroundings are stunning and full of energy. During climbing season, we might see colorful tents of expedition teams.
