Itinerary

01

Day 1 -Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our friendly management team members will be there to receive you with a warm welcome. If you are arriving Nepal for the first time, Kathmandu can feel overwhelming at first, the crowds, traffic, and fast-paced hustle might surprise you. But as you begin to explore, you’ll soon discover that beneath the surface lies a city full of rich culture, history, and hidden gems waiting to be appreciated. The blend of ancient temples, colorful markets, and spiritual ambiance makes Kathmandu a unique and unforgettable place. From the airport, we’ll drive you comfortably to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we will arrange a short briefing to prepare you for your trek. If you arrive in the morning or early afternoon, we’ll organize an orientation meeting in the evening. During this session, our company representative and your guide will give you a final briefing about the trek, answer any questions, and make sure you’re ready for the journey ahead. If your flight arrives later in the day, we’ll hold the briefing the next morning after breakfast or at evening after full-day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

Day 2 – Full-day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley / Duration: 8-9 hrs

After breakfast, we begin our full-day cultural exploration of Kathmandu. We start with a pleasant 20-minute walk to Basantapur Durbar Square. Although driving is an option, we recommend walking so you can experience the vibrant street life and witness the daily activities of the Newar community—one of the Indigenous groups of the Kathmandu Valley, known for their rich culture, art, and architecture. At Basantapur Durbar Square, we explore the entire palace complex, which is filled with centuries-old temples, courtyards, and historical monuments. One of the highlights here is a visit to the Kumari palace, living goddess worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists. Next, we take a short drive through our private vehicle to Swayambhunath Stupa also known as the Monkey Temple. Situated at top of the hill, this ancient stupa offers a panoramic view of the entire Kathmandu Valley. On clear days, you can even see the distant snowcapped Himalayan peaks. We then head to Boudhanath Stupa, about a 30-minute drive depending on traffic. Boudhanath is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its peaceful atmosphere and vibrant Tibetan Buddhist culture. We enjoy lunch at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the stupa, soaking in the serene energy of the area. Our final stop is Pashupatinath Temple Complex, the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, this temple complex is not only a place of worship but also a center for Hindu cremation rituals and spiritual gatherings. After a fulfilling day of sightseeing, we drive back to the hotel to rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

Day 3: Drive to Ramechhap, Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610m) / Duration: Drive: 5-6 hrs, Trek: 3-4 hrs

Early in the morning, we take a packed breakfast and leave our hotel for the drive to Ramechhap Airport. On the way, we stop for a quick roadside breakfast before continuing our journey. Once we reach Ramechhap, we board a small aircraft for an early morning flight to Lukla. These planes don’t have assigned seat numbers, so we recommend choosing a seat on the left side or just behind the pilot to enjoy the most stunning panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and the dramatic Lukla runway as we approach. After a short, scenic flight, we land in Lukla, where we meet our porters and enjoy a warm cup of tea. We also take a short time to explore Lukla, take photos near the iconic runway, and soak in the mountain atmosphere. Then we begin our trek. Today’s walk is easy, we pass through charming Sherpa villages, cross suspension bridges, and walk through peaceful forests. Along the trail, we see colorful prayer flags and Mani stones etched with Buddhist prayers. After about 4 hours of gentle hiking, we reach Phakding, a beautiful riverside village.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) / Duration: 7-8 hrs

Today’s journey takes us deep into the Khumbu region as we trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant heart of the Sherpa community. The trail begins gently as we follow the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several exciting suspension bridges draped with prayer flags. As we continue, we pass small settlements and enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where our permits are checked. From here, the trail gets steeper. One of the highlights is crossing the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge, the highest and most famous in the region. The final climb to Namche is tough but rewarding, with switchbacks through a pine forest. If the weather is clear, we may catch our first glimpse of Mount Everest in the distance. Namche Bazaar appears like a hidden amphitheater carved into the mountainside. It’s the perfect place to rest and get a feel for the unique blend of Sherpa culture and mountain life. After the long climb, we’ll be glad to explore the colorful town and rest up for tomorrow’s acclimatization.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
05

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche / Duration: 5-6 hrs

To help our bodies adjust to the altitude, we spend today acclimatizing in and around Namche Bazaar. While we don’t trek far, we still climb to a higher elevation and return to sleep lower, which is an effective way to prevent altitude sickness. After breakfast, we set off on a short hike to the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest hotels in the world. From here, we enjoy stunning panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the beautiful Ama Dablam. We then continue toward the traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung, where we visit the local monastery and the school built by Sir Edmund Hillary. From Khumjung, we make our way to Khunde village, home to the famous Khunde Hospital, a facility established with Hillary’s support and specially focused on treating high-altitude illnesses. After exploring the area, we return to Namche Bazaar for a restful afternoon. Those who wish can visit the Sherpa Culture Museum or enjoy some quiet time at a local café with fresh coffee and pastries. Today’s slower pace allows us to absorb the beauty of the Khumbu region while supporting safe acclimatization for the days ahead.

06

Day 6: Trek to Thame (3,830m) / Duration: 6-7 hrs

Day 6: Trek to Thame (3,830m) / Duration: 6-7 hrs Today, we leave Namche Bazaar and head toward the quiet village of Thame. The trail is gentle and follows beautiful paths through the mountains. We pass by Mani walls, which are stone walls carved with prayers and religious symbols. These walls are deeply meaningful in Sherpa culture and reflect the strong spiritual traditions of the region. As we walk, we enjoy peaceful forests, small streams, and wide views of the valley below. Thame is a calm and less-visited village, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic Sherpa life away from the main trekking route. One of the highlights here is the ancient Thame Monastery, built into a hillside. It is a quiet and spiritual place where we can learn more about the local Buddhist culture and take in the serene atmosphere. The hike today takes about 6-7 hours, and we take our time to enjoy the journey to Thame.

07

Day 7: Trek to Lunden (4,368m) / Duration: 6-7 hrs

Today we leave Thame and begin climbing higher toward the village of Lunden. The trail follows an ancient trade route once used to carry salt and grain between Nepal and Tibet. Walking this historic path gives us a real sense of connection to the past and adds a special feeling of adventure to the journey. Now, the trail gradually climbs, and as we gain altitude, the air becomes cooler and thinner. We walk at a slow, steady pace, drink plenty of water, and listen to our bodies. By afternoon, we reach Lunden, a small settlement nestled high in the mountains. The peaceful atmosphere and remote setting make this place feel truly special.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 8: Trek to Gokyo Lake (4,790m) via Renjo La Pass (5,355m) / Duration: 8-9 hrs

Today is one of the toughest but most beautiful days of our trek. We begin early in the morning towards Renjo La Pass, one of the three high passes on this journey. The trail is steep and demanding, with rocky paths and switchbacks that lead us higher and higher. As we reach the top of the pass, we are rewarded with breathtaking views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and the stunning Gokyo Valley below. After spending some time at the top, we descend carefully toward Gokyo Lake, a serene turquoise lake nestled among the mountains. The trail down is rocky and requires attention, but the changing scenery is incredible. Since there are no lodges or tea houses along the way, we carry packed lunches and stop somewhere along the trail to rest and eat. This day is long, taking about 8-9 hours, but the experience is unforgettable. When we reach Gokyo, we check into a lodge by the lake and enjoy a warm meal and peaceful surroundings. The stars here are often incredibly bright, creating a magical end to the day.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
09

Day 9: Climb Gokyo Ri (5,357m) and Trek to Thangna (4,698m) / Duration: 8-9 hrs

On this day, we start early with a climb to Gokyo Ri, a famous viewpoint that offers some of the best panoramic views in the Everest region. From the summit, we see incredible mountains including Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu—4 of the world’s highest peaks. The effort to reach the top is well rewarded with breathtaking scenery and a stunning sunrise. After enjoying the views and taking photos, we descend back to Gokyo for breakfast. We then continue our trek toward Thangna, following a trail that crosses the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal. The route winds through a dramatic and rocky landscape shaped by ice and time. Along the way, we are surrounded by towering peaks, glacial moraines, and a raw, rugged terrain that highlights the untouched beauty of the high Himalayas. Today’s journey takes about 8 to 9 hours in total, including the morning hike to Gokyo Ri. We take our time, pace ourselves, and rest as needed when we arrive in Thangna.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
010

Day 10: Trek to Zongla (4,800m) via Cho La Pass (5,368m) / Duration: 7-8 hrs

Today is one of the hardest days of our trek, as we cross Cho La Pass, the second of the three high passes. The climb to the top is steep and can be slippery in places, so we take our time and use trekking poles for balance and support. As we ascend, the landscape becomes more dramatic, and the views from the top are absolutely breathtaking, with snow-capped mountains surrounding us in every direction. After taking in the incredible scenery at the pass, we begin a careful descent into the valley. The trail down is rocky and requires focus, but the beauty of the landscape glaciers, icy ridges, and rugged peaks makes every step worthwhile. We continue trekking toward Dzongla, a small and peaceful settlement tucked beneath towering cliffs. The altitude remains high, so we drink plenty of water, eat well, and take it slow to stay strong and healthy.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
011

Day 11: Trek to Lobuche High Camp (5,450m) / Duration: 5-6 hrs

Today we leave the peaceful settlement of Dzongla and begin our journey toward Lobuche High Camp. The trail starts off gently, moving through rocky alpine landscapes with beautiful views of surrounding glaciers and towering peaks like Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Kangtenga. As we gain elevation, the path becomes more rugged, and we notice the air growing thinner. Although today’s trek isn’t very long, we move slowly and take regular breaks to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the dramatic scenery. Upon reaching Lobuche High Camp, we settle into a tented camp. For those preparing to climb Lobuche East, our climber guide will check safety gear, review climbing techniques, and go over important instructions for summit day. Even for those not attempting the summit, this day remains very special, as we find ourselves surrounded by some of the world’s highest and most iconic Himalayan peaks. We enjoy a warm meal, rest early, and prepare for the next big adventure that awaits in these high mountains.

    Overnight at Tent (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
012

Day 12: Lobuche East Summit (6,119m) and Return to Lobuche (4,910m) / Duration: 10-12 hrs

Today is a big day, we start very early, usually around 2 or 3 AM, with headlamps on. After a light breakfast, we begin the ascent with our climbing guide. The trail starts on rocky terrain and gradually transitions into snow and ice as we gain altitude. We use crampons, harnesses, and fixed ropes for safety. The climb is physically and mentally demanding, requiring strong focus, steady energy, and determination. As we approach the summit, the world opens up to spectacular views—Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and many other Himalayan giants stretch out before us. Reaching the summit of Lobuche East is an unforgettable experience. Standing atop a Himalayan peak, surrounded by towering mountains, is something we’ll always remember. After soaking in the views and capturing some photos, we carefully begin our descent back to Lobuche.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
013

Day 13: Reserve Day

We keep this day as a reserve in case of bad weather or other delays that prevent a successful summit attempt on Day 12. High-altitude climbing depends greatly on safe weather conditions, and this extra day gives us flexibility for a second try. If we’ve already reached the summit, we use this day to relax and make our descent more comfortable. Depending on our pace and preferences, we may choose to spend the night in a peaceful place along the way—such as Namche Bazaar, Phakding, Tengboche Monastery. This allows us to enjoy the beauty of the region at a slower pace and reflect on our incredible journey.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
014

Day 14: Trek to Gorak Shep and Visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m) / Duration: 7-8 hrs (including Base camp)

Today is one of the most exciting days of our journey. We will trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, a small settlement high in the mountains. Although the trek is not very long, it is challenging but rewarding because of the high altitude. After a short rest and lunch in Gorak Shep, we’ll continue our day hike to Everest Base Camp. The trail is rocky and follows the edge of the Khumbu Glacier. Along the way, we’ll see ice towers and amazing glacier formations. When we finally arrive at Everest Base Camp, it will feel like a dream come true. We’ll be standing at the foot of the world’s highest mountain! Although we can only see some glimpses of Everest from Everest Base Camp, the surroundings are stunning and full of energy. During climbing season, we might see colorful tents of expedition teams. After spending time enjoying the views and taking photos, we’ll return to Gorak Shep for the night.

    Overnight at Guesthouse (Including Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
015

Day 15: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,550m) and Trek to Pheriche / Duration: 7-8 hrs

Today, we wake up very early and hike from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint to see Mount Everest up close. The climb is steep, but the views from the top are amazing. From Kala Patthar, we can see Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other huge mountains shining in the sunrise. After enjoying the views and taking photos, we hike back down to Gorak Shep for breakfast and some rest. Then, we start our trek downhill to Pheriche. Along the way, we pass through Lobuche and reach Thukla Pass, where we find a group of memorials built in memory of climbers who lost their lives in the Everest region during climbing. After that, we descend towards Pheriche. We reach Pheriche in the evening, feeling satisfied after a full day of adventure. Today’s journey gives us a rewarding morning climb and a peaceful descent through the stunning landscapes of the Khumbu region.

After breakfast in Tengboche, the trail begins by descending through lovely forests filled with rhododendron and pine trees. After reaching the river, we cross a suspension bridge and then begin a steady uphill climb before the trail flattens out again. On a clear day, we can still catch glimpses of Everest and other surrounding peaks. As we get closer to Namche Bazaar, we pass small villages and tea houses where we can stop for tea or snacks.
