Day 1: Arrival in Delhi and Fly to Leh (3,500m) / Duration: Flight-1-1.5 hrs
After arriving at Delhi International Airport, our team will assist you with the connecting flight to Leh, the gateway to Ladakh. The flight is incredibly scenic, offering amazing aerial views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Leh (3,500m), you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Because of the high altitude, it’s very important to rest today and allow your body to begin acclimatizing.

Day 2: Acclimatisation day in Leh
Today is a full day dedicated to acclimatization in Leh. We recommend light walking. For gentle activity, we may explore nearby attractions such as Leh Market, Leh Palace, or walk up to Shanti Stupa, which offers panoramic views of the Indus Valley and Stok Kangri range. Our guide will also conduct a briefing session to go over the upcoming trek and check all your equipment.

Day 3: Sightseeing around Leh
After breakfast, we set out for a short sightseeing tour to explore some of Ladakh’s cultural treasures. We begin with a visit to Shey Palace and Monastery, once the royal residence of Ladakhi kings. It features a massive golden Buddha statue and overlooks the green fields of Shey village. Next, we visit the magnificent Thiksey Monastery, built in the 15th century, perched on a hilltop and resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa. It is one of the most beautiful and active monasteries in Ladakh. After soaking in the spiritual energy and scenic views, we return to Leh for a relaxed afternoon and prepare for the start of the trek.

Day 4: Drive to Nubra Valley (3,000m) & Explore / Duration: 5–6 hrs
Today we leave Leh and drive across one of the world’s highest motorable passes Khardung La (5,359m). The road climbs steeply with dramatic views of the Ladakh Range and distant Zanskar peaks. After a short stop at the top, we descend into Nubra Valley. The valley lies between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges and is known for its orchards, sand dunes, and rivers. Upon arrival, we explore local sights like the famous Diskit Monastery or take a walk near the dunes of Hunder, where double-humped Bactrian camels are found. The contrast between desert and snow-capped peaks makes Nubra a magical place to begin our journey.

Day 5: Drive to starting point of the Trek to Hunder Dok (3,832m) / Duration: 6 hrs drive & 3–4 hrs trek
We begin the day with a drive through Nubra’s beautiful landscape, retracing part of our route via Khardung La (5,359m) before turning onto a rough mountain road toward the trek’s starting point. After reaching the road-head, we begin trekking into the wild, lesser-visited region of Hunder Dok. The trail passes through green alpine meadows, scattered grazing camps, and streams flowing from the high peaks. The terrain is gentle, allowing us to acclimatize gradually. By afternoon, we reach Hunder Dok, an area nestled in a stunning valley surrounded by rocky hills and sharp ridges.

Day 6: Trek to Sumdo Dok (4,237m) / Duration: 4–5 hrs
After breakfast, we begin our scenic trek deeper into the Nubra region, heading toward Sumdo Dok. The trail climbs gently through wildflower-filled meadows, with streams crisscrossing the valley. The path follows the river upstream, passing alpine shrubs and rocky hillsides. As we gain altitude, the landscape becomes more remote and untouched. The cool mountain air and expansive views provide the perfect setting for acclimatization. By early afternoon, we reach Sumdo Dok, a tranquil grazing site nestled beneath towering rock walls.

Day 7: Trek to Thanglasgo (4,500m) / Duration: 5–6 hrs
Today we continue our gradual ascent into the higher reaches of the Ladakh Himalayas. The trail from Sumdo Dok to Thanglasgo follows a remote, wild valley lined with dramatic granite cliffs and open meadows. The terrain becomes more rugged as we cross rocky patches and narrow streams. As we climb higher, the surrounding peaks come closer into view, and we begin to feel the altitude. Thanglasgo is a wide grazing area surrounded by majestic ridgelines, making it an ideal campsite before approaching Lasermo La.

Day 8: Trek to Lasermo La Base (4,800m) / Duration: 5–6 hrs
After breakfast, we head toward the base of Lasermo La, gradually climbing through a rocky valley framed by towering ridges. The landscape becomes increasingly alpine, with scattered glacial streams and a dramatic sense of isolation. We ascend slowly, allowing our bodies to adjust to the thinning air. The approach to Lasermo La Base reveals breathtaking views of the pass ahead and distant summits beyond. We camp at the foot of the pass in a cold, windswept valley, resting early in preparation for tomorrow.

Day 9: Cross Lasermo La (5,400m) & Descend to Phyang Phu (4,620m) / Duration: 6–7 hrs
Today is the most rewarding day of the trek. We begin early, climbing slowly toward Lasermo La, the highest point of our journey. The trail is steep and may involve snow and ice crossings near the top. Upon reaching the top of Lasermo La, we’re greeted with panoramic views of the Zanskar, Karakoram, and Stok ranges, an unforgettable Himalayan vista. After a short rest, we begin the long descent into Phyang Valley, where the terrain becomes grassy and less steep. We reach the beautiful meadows of Phyang Phu by late afternoon and settle into our final campsite.

Day 10: Trek to Morobuk & Drive to Leh / Duration: 4–5 hrs trek & 40 mins drive
On our last day of trekking, we follow a gentle downhill trail from Phyang Phu to Morobuk, walking through willow groves and past small streams. The valley gradually widens, and we begin to see signs of settlement as we approach the trailhead. After 4–5 hours of walking, we arrive at Morobuk, where our vehicle will be waiting. We drive back to Leh in about 40 minutes. Rest of the day is free to relax or explore Leh Bazaar.

Day 11: Fly to Delhi / Duration: Flight – about 1 hr 15 mins
After breakfast, we transfer to Leh Airport for your flight back to Delhi. The short but scenic journey offers a final glimpse of the mighty Himalayas from above. On arrival in Delhi, your Ladakh adventure comes to an end. You can either continue with international connections or spend more time exploring the capital city of India. We hope you return home with unforgettable memories from your journey across the beautiful high valleys of Nubra and Phyang.

Day 12: Full Day Sightseeing in Delhi- Explore Delhi: Historical and Cultural Highlights
After a restful night, we explore Delhi, where history meets modern life. We start at the majestic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then visit Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques. Next, we stroll through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, experiencing old Delhi’s vibrant markets. In the afternoon, we visit India Gate and drive past Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhavan. Finally, we explore Connaught Place, the heart of New Delhi, for shopping or a relaxing café stop. This day offers a perfect blend of culture, history, and city life, leaving lasting memories before departure.

Day 13: Final Departure (250m) / Duration: Airport transfer
Today marks the end of your unforgettable journey through the beautiful landscapes of Ladakh. After breakfast, our Travel Footsteps staff will assist with your transfer to the international airport for your final departure.
