Itinerary

01

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our friendly management team members will be there to receive you with a warm welcome. If you are arriving Nepal for the first time, Kathmandu can feel overwhelming at first, the crowds, traffic, and fast-paced hustle might surprise you. But as you begin to explore, you’ll soon discover that beneath the surface lies a city full of rich culture, history, and hidden gems waiting to be appreciated. The blend of ancient temples, colorful markets, and spiritual ambiance makes Kathmandu a unique and unforgettable place. From the airport, we’ll drive you comfortably to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we will arrange a short briefing to prepare you for your trek. If you arrive in the morning or early afternoon, we’ll organize an orientation meeting in the evening. During this session, our company representative and your guide will give you a final briefing about the trek, answer any questions, and make sure you’re ready for the journey ahead. If your flight arrives later in the day, we’ll hold the briefing the next morning after breakfast or at evening after full-day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

Day 2: Full-day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley (1,350m) / Duration: 8-9 hrs

After breakfast, we begin a full day of cultural sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley. Our first stop is the holy Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, located along the banks of the Bagmati River. Here, you’ll witness rituals, cremation ceremonies, and a peaceful blend of spirituality and history. Next, we visit Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world. It’s a beautiful white dome surrounded by prayer wheels, colorful flags, and the scent of incense. Many Tibetan Buddhists circle the stupa while chanting, and you can join in if you like. We’ll enjoy lunch nearby before heading to Patan Durbar Square, also known as the “City of Beauty.” This area is rich with ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples, showing a fine mix of Hindu and Buddhist art. Today also includes final preparations for your trek. We’ll check your permits for the Manaslu Conservation Area and restricted Nar Phu region, inspect your gear, and ensure you’re fully ready. You can spend the evening relaxing or exploring Thamel's restaurants and shops. It’s an exciting and meaningful day that offers a deep insight into Nepal’s culture and spiritual traditions.

Today we start our journey to the Annapurna region. After an early breakfast, we leave Kathmandu by private vehicle and drive through beautiful landscapes. The road follows rivers, terraced fields, and small villages. We pass through Besisahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung, and continue driving on a rougher road to reach Ngadi Village. Along the way, we enjoy amazing views of green hills and flowing rivers. The drive can be bumpy, but it’s a great way to see rural Nepal. Ngadi is a peaceful village at the base of the hills, surrounded by nature. This is where our real trekking adventure begins.

After lunch, the trail becomes a bit steeper, with stone steps leading through forested paths and past small waterfalls. After lunch, we descend slightly and follow the trail through pine woods and along the riverbank. Day 7: Trek to Meta (3,560m) / Duration: 7–8 hrs

Today we leave the popular Annapurna trail and enter the remote and restricted Nar Phu Valley. After getting our permits checked at Koto, we follow a narrow trail along the Soti Khola (river). The trail is less traveled, and we will feel the difference right away—fewer people, untouched nature, and the sound of the river echoing in the valley. We stop for lunch in a small clearing or teahouse, depending on the pace. As we go higher, the forests thin out and open into alpine landscapes. After a long day of walking, we reach Meta (3,560m), a Tibetan-style village on a wide open plain. From here, we can see snowy peaks like Kangaru Himal and Pisang Peak. The air is thinner now, so we walk slowly and rest often. Meta is a quiet and beautiful village, perfect for watching the sunset on the mountains.

Day 8: Trek to Kyang (3,840m) / Duration: 4–5 hrs

Today’s walk is shorter but just as beautiful. After breakfast, we leave Meta and head towards Kyang, passing through a dry, high-altitude landscape. The path follows the Nar Khola River and winds through rocky hills, ancient mani walls, and open plateaus. Along the way, we see chortens and old stone structures left behind by previous Tibetan settlers. The views are wide and peaceful, and if the weather is clear, we can see snow-capped mountains like Pisang Peak and other unnamed peaks rising in the distance. This area is home to blue sheep and Himalayan birds, so keep your eyes open for wildlife. After 4 to 5 hours of hiking, we reach Kyang (3,840m), a quiet seasonal settlement used by yak herders. After lunch and some rest, you can explore the area or relax.

The path climbs gently, and the scenery becomes more spectacular with every step. We cross a few small wooden bridges and pass through narrow gorges before reaching a beautiful line of chortens—this marks the entrance to Phu Valley. Phu (4,080m) is a traditional village sitting on a hill, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and steep cliffs. It feels like stepping back in time. The people here are of Tibetan heritage and their homes are made of stone.

This hike helps your body adjust to the higher altitude and offers stunning mountain views. We follow a rocky trail that climbs gently through open landscapes and yak pastures. As we gain height, we are rewarded with fantastic views of Himlung, one of the major peaks in the region, as well as other snow-covered mountains. We might even spot blue sheep or Himalayan birds on the way. Once we reach the base camp, we take some time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful, wide-open setting surrounded by glaciers and snowy peaks. After spending some time at the base camp, we carefully descend back to Phu village. The return is easier and quicker. Back in Phu, we can spend the evening relaxing or visiting any parts of the village we missed yesterday.

We retrace our steps along the rocky trails, crossing bridges and chortens, and walking through the dry, high-altitude landscape. On the way back, the trail feels different as we now go downhill for some time, allowing us to enjoy views from a new angle. We pass the same mani walls and enjoy the wide-open valley one last time before the trail splits toward Nar. Our stop for the night is Nar Phedi (3,490m), a small settlement with only one basic monastery guesthouse run by nuns. It’s a peaceful place with a warm and spiritual atmosphere. The nuns offer simple but delicious food, and we may have a chance to join their evening prayers. This stay gives us a true cultural experience.

We see prayer flags, mani walls, and colorful chortens along the way, which guide us on our spiritual mountain journey. As we get closer to Nar, the landscape opens up with views of Kang Guru and other peaks in the distance. After about 3 to 4 hours of walking, we reach Nar (4,110m), a beautiful and well-preserved village with traditional Tibetan-style stone houses and a strong cultural identity. Nar is larger than Phu and has several small shops and teahouses. The villagers here live a simple life, raising yaks and harvesting barley.

We begin early in the morning, climbing steadily on a trail that becomes steeper as we approach the pass. The high-altitude path takes us across rocky terrain with breathtaking views of Pisang Peak, Annapurna II, and Tilicho Peak rising majestically in the distance. Prayer flags mark the top of Kang La, and from here, the panorama is simply unforgettable. After spending some time enjoying the scenery, we descend carefully on a steep trail toward Ngawal, a charming village on the upper Pisang route. The descent takes us through wide meadows and traditional stone houses. Ngawal (3,660m) is known for its ancient monasteries and beautiful setting above the Marsyangdi Valley. After a long but rewarding day, we rest and recover in this peaceful village.

The path passes through fields, chortens, and mani walls, reflecting the strong Tibetan Buddhist culture of the area. The air is fresh and cool at this altitude, and the views remain wide and open. After 4–5 hours of gentle hiking, we reach Ghyaru (3,730m), a traditional mountain village perched on a hillside. We walk through pastures and follow rocky paths with stunning views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and Chulu peaks behind us. As we get closer, Pisang Peak comes into full view, standing tall and majestic against the sky. The walk is shorter compared to previous days, but we take it slowly to adjust to the altitude. We pass through rugged alpine terrain, where vegetation is minimal, and the air feels thinner. Walking at a steady pace, we carry only the essentials needed for the climb. By midday, we reach High Camp (5,400m), a small but spectacular spot with sweeping views of the Annapurna range and the Marsyangdi Valley far below. After settling in, the climbing team will provide final training and guidance. This extra day is kept as a reserve in case weather or other conditions prevent us from reaching the summit on Day 17. Mountain weather can be unpredictable, so having this day ensures flexibility and safety. If the summit was already successful, this day can be used as a rest and recovery day at Base Camp, allowing us to relax and enjoy the peaceful alpine surroundings. Spending an additional night at altitude also helps our bodies recover before descending further.
