Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our friendly management team members will be there to receive you with a warm welcome. If you are arriving Nepal for the first time, Kathmandu can feel overwhelming at first, the crowds, traffic, and fast-paced hustle might surprise you. But as you begin to explore, you’ll soon discover that beneath the surface lies a city full of rich culture, history, and hidden gems waiting to be appreciated. The blend of ancient temples, colorful markets, and spiritual ambiance makes Kathmandu a unique and unforgettable place. From the airport, we’ll drive you comfortably to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we will arrange a short briefing to prepare you for your trek. If you arrive in the morning or early afternoon, we’ll organize an orientation meeting in the evening. During this session, our company representative and your guide will give you a final briefing about the trek, answer any questions, and make sure you’re ready for the journey ahead. If your flight arrives later in the day, we’ll hold the briefing the next morning after breakfast or at evening after full-day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

Day 2: Full-day Sightseeing in Kathmandu (1,350m) / Duration: 8-9 hrs
After breakfast, we begin our full-day cultural exploration of Kathmandu. We start with a pleasant 20-minute walk to Basantapur Durbar Square. Although driving is an option, we recommend walking so you can experience the vibrant street life and witness the daily activities of the Newar community—one of the Indigenous groups of the Kathmandu Valley, known for their rich culture, art, and architecture. At Basantapur Durbar Square, we explore the entire palace complex, which is filled with centuries-old temples, courtyards, and historical monuments. One of the highlights here is a visit to the Kumari palace, living goddess worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists. Next, we take a short drive through our private vehicle to Swayambhunath Stupa also known as the Monkey Temple. Situated at top of the hill, this ancient stupa offers a panoramic view of the entire Kathmandu Valley. On clear days, you can even see the distant snowcapped Himalayan peaks. We then head to Boudhanath Stupa, about a 30-minute drive depending on traffic. Boudhanath is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its peaceful atmosphere and vibrant Tibetan Buddhist culture. We enjoy lunch at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the stupa, soaking in the serene energy of the area. Our final stop is Pashupatinath Temple Complex, the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, this temple complex is not only a place of worship but also a center for Hindu cremation rituals and spiritual gatherings. After a fulfilling day of sightseeing, we drive back to the hotel to rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

We pass through Salleri and Sirdibas, where we see traditional stone houses and get a glimpse of local Gurung culture and daily life.
Soon, we arrive in Philim, a large Gurung village with a school and traditional homes. After a short break here, we take the trail that leads us toward the hidden Tsum Valley, leaving the main Manaslu route behind. The path climbs gently through forests filled with pine and rhododendron trees. This section is peaceful and less crowded, giving us a sense of quiet and connection with nature.
After a few more hours of walking through serene hillsides, we reach Lokpa, a small and quiet village that marks the gateway to the Tsum Valley. Surrounded by green forests and high ridges, Lokpa offers a calm and peaceful resting point.

Day 6: Trek to Chumling (2,386m) / Duration: 4-6 hrs
After a warm breakfast in Lokpa, we begin our trek with a gentle descent into the forest. We cross a long suspension bridge over the Syar Khola (river) and follow a narrow trail that winds along the hillside. This part of the trail is peaceful and quiet, with no villages along the way, just the natural sounds of birds and flowing water. The walk is slow and steady, with a few gentle ups and downs.
We pass through lush green forests of pine and rhododendron, which are especially beautiful in the spring when flowers bloom across the hills. As we go deeper into the valley, the landscape slowly begins to open up. After about 4 to 5 hours of walking, we reach the small village of Chumling, located on the southern slopes of the Shingri Himal. From here, we enjoy stunning views of the Ganesh Himal range.

Day 7: Trek to Chekamparo (3,010m) / Duration: 4-6 hrs
Today’s journey takes us deeper into the heart of the Tsum Valley. After leaving Chumling, we cross a suspension bridge and begin a steady climb through dense forests filled with pine and fir trees. The trail is peaceful and quiet, and we enjoy the soothing sounds of flowing streams and birdsong as we walk.
As we gain height, the views begin to open up. We catch our first clear sights of Ganesh Himal and surrounding snow-covered peaks. The air feels cooler and fresher with each step. Along the way, we pass small settlements like Domje and cross a few charming wooden bridges.
After several hours of trekking, we arrive at the twin villages of Chekam and Paro, commonly known together as Chekamparo. This area is home to the Tsumbas, a Tibetan-origin community who follow Buddhist traditions. Their stone and wood houses reflect ancient styles, and we see mani walls and prayer flags lining the trail.
Chekamparo offers wide views across the valley, and on a clear day, we may spot Himalchuli and other distant peaks.

Day 8: Trek to Nile (3,361m) / Duration: 4-5 hrs
After breakfast in Chekamparo, we continue our trek further into the upper Tsum Valley. The trail today is mostly gentle, following flat meadows and gradually rising paths alongside the Shiar Khola River. We pass through peaceful villages like Lamagaon, Burji, and Phurbe, where stone houses, barley fields, and grazing yaks create a calm and traditional mountain atmosphere.
The walk is relaxing, giving us time to take in the wide-open valley views and enjoy the dry, high-altitude scenery. Along the way, we see many Buddhist landmarks, including colorful chortens, long mani walls, and large prayer wheels that reflect the strong spiritual life of the region. We may even meet monks and nuns as we pass by local monasteries and village paths.
As we approach Nile, the valley becomes wider and the views more dramatic. Nile is one of the last permanent settlements before the Tibetan border and sits beside the river, offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks.

Day 9: Trek to Mu Gomba (3,700m) / Duration: 3-4 hrs
Today is a shorter but very special day as we trek to Mu Gomba, one of the most sacred monasteries in the Tsum Valley. We start early from Nile and follow a gradual uphill trail. The landscape becomes more open and dry, with fewer trees and more alpine views all around us. As we climb higher, we begin to feel the altitude more, so we take our time and walk slowly, enjoying each step.
Along the way, we pass yaks grazing in the open fields and may spot blue sheep or high-altitude birds flying above. After about three hours of steady trekking, we reach Mu Gomba. This is the largest and most important monastery in the valley. It sits at the base of towering peaks and is over 100 years old. Inside, we find ancient statues, scriptures, and sacred Buddhist items. The monks who live here follow a simple, spiritual life and often welcome visitors warmly.
From Mu Gomba, we get incredible views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. On clear days, we may even glimpse the Tibetan border ridge.

We spend time exploring the monastery, which is quiet and spiritual. Monks go about their daily routines, and we can visit the main prayer hall, look at ancient religious texts and paintings, and observe the simple, meaningful life of the monastery. If we wish, we may join in the morning or evening chants, a calming and memorable experience.
Outside, the views are stunning. We can take a short hike to nearby hills for wider views of the Ganesh Himal and the dramatic cliffs surrounding the valley. If the weather is clear, we might see eagles or Himalayan griffons gliding in the sky.
We spend the rest of the day relaxing, journaling, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty around us.

Day 11: Trek to Chekamparo (3,010m) / Duration: 6-7 hrs
After a relaxing and spiritual day at Mu Gumba, it’s time for us to head back down the valley. The trail follows the same peaceful path we took earlier, through the wide, open landscapes of upper Tsum Valley. As we descend, the air becomes slightly warmer and the walking feels easier.
We pass through the quiet village of Nile and continue along the familiar trail, crossing through Phurbe, Burji, and Lamagaon. Along the way, we get to enjoy new angles of the mountains and appreciate the valley from a fresh perspective. We take our time to notice details we may have missed before like small prayer wheels, beautifully built stone houses, or simply exchanging smiles and stories with the local people.
By afternoon, we arrive back in Chekamparo. Since we’ve been here before, it feels welcoming and familiar. We can take more time to explore the village, revisit the monastery, or just rest and enjoy the warm hospitality of the locals once again.

Day 12: Trek to Lokpa (1,900m) / Duration: 6-7 hrs
Today is a longer descent as we trek back from Chekamparo to Lokpa. The trail follows the same route downhill, but going back is faster and easier. We walk through forests, cross several wooden and suspension bridges, and pass the villages we’ve seen before like Domje and Chumling. This time, everything feels a little more familiar and enjoyable. We take our time to revisit places we liked or stop for tea in one of the villages. As we lose altitude, the air becomes warmer and the forests become thicker again. The sounds of birds and flowing rivers return, and we may spot monkeys or Himalayan langurs in the trees. After crossing the last suspension bridge over the Syar Khola, we climb a bit to reach Lokpa. This will be our last night in the Tsum Valley before rejoining the Manaslu Circuit trail.

The walk is pleasant and scenic, following the Buri Gandaki River again. We pass through small settlements and cross several suspension bridges over the river. As we walk along, the valley narrows and steep cliffs rise on both sides. The path includes some uphill and downhill sections, so we take our time and enjoy the changing landscape.
We notice more trekkers now, as we are back on the main Manaslu trail. After a few hours, we reach Deng. The culture here begins to feel more Tibetan, with prayer flags, mani stones, and traditional houses.

The dense forest opens up into wider paths with fields of barley and wheat. The people here look more Tibetan, and we see Buddhist decorations like chortens, prayer flags, and mani walls. The trail passes through forests filled with fir, oak, and rhododendron trees, and the sound of birds and flowing water is always around us. We might see gray langurs playing in the trees or mules carrying supplies.

The villages here are characterized by stone houses with shared roofs, and the locals wear traditional Tibetan chubas, thick woolen robes. In the fields, we get chance to see elevated platforms used as watchtowers, where locals stay overnight to protect their crops from bears. After walking for 5 hours, we reach Lho (3,180m), a lively village with a new chorten and a small gumba (monastery). We can enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets over Manaslu and Manaslu North from our stay.

We begin our walk with stunning views of the majestic Himalchuli (7,893 m) and Ngadi Chuli (7,879 m). After trekking for about four hours, we reach our lunch and day destination in the village of Samagaon (3,530 m). From this point, we can clearly see the gumba in the distance which is at the edge of the village. Samagaon is a spacious village set in the valley, and at this altitude, the residents primarily grow potatoes and barley, as these are the only crops that thrive in such high-altitude conditions. The villagers also raise herds of yaks and a few horses, which are essential to their way of life. Weaving is an important part of the local economy here, and we’ll have the chance to watch women expertly working on traditional looms, creating woven items that are vital to their culture and livelihood. Surrounded by serene and picturesque landscapes, Samagaon offers an intriguing glimpse into the local way of life, making it a memorable stop on our trek.

Day 17: Acclimatization day in Samagaon (3,530m)
Today is an acclimatization day in Samagaon. The best way to adjust to the altitude is by staying active, and a great option is a day hike to Manaslu Base Camp. This is quite a long walk that takes around 9 to 10 hours round trip. The trail climbs steadily and offers stunning views of snowy peaks, glaciers, and the wide mountain valley.
If we feel the hike is too demanding, we can choose a shorter option and visit the beautiful Mahendra Lake instead. The lake is surrounded by rocky cliffs and snowy ridges, and its calm, icy waters reflect the mountains above.
Whether we go all the way to base camp or return halfway, this hike helps our bodies get used to the higher elevation. It also gives us the chance to enjoy the peaceful beauty of this remote mountain area. Staying active without overexerting ourselves is the key to a safe and comfortable journey ahead.

Day 18: Trek to Samdo (3,875m) / Duration: 3-5 hrs
Today, we walk through picturesque birch forests, making our way to Samdo (3,860 m), which is just about 4-hour trek. After a short while, we’ll spot the entrance chorten of Samdo, majestically perched on a cliff. This marks the arrival at Samdo, a peaceful village known for its rich Tibetan culture. The village offers a unique opportunity to learn about the traditional Tibetan way of life, including their customs, lifestyle, and beliefs. The serene environment and the authentic local atmosphere make Samdo a perfect place to immerse ourselves in the Tibetan heritage while surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the region. After breakfast in Samdo, we begin our gradual trek toward Dharmasala, also known as Larke Phedi. The trail starts with a gentle descent and crosses a wooden bridge over the Buri Gandaki River. From there, we follow a steady uphill path with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and barren high-altitude landscape. Along the way, we may see blue sheep grazing on the slopes and enjoy the peaceful silence of the remote Himalayan wilderness.
After around 4 to 5 hours of walking, we reach Dharmasala, a small and basic place that acts as the final overnight stop before crossing the Larke La Pass.
There are only a few guesthouses here with very limited capacity. During busy seasons, if the number of trekkers exceeds the available rooms, we may need to spend the night in tents. However, we always try to book accommodation in advance before reaching Dharmasala to make sure we have a place to stay. We rest early tonight to get ready for the big day ahead.

Day 20: Trek to Bimthang (3,720m) / Duration: 7-9 hrs
Today is the most challenging and rewarding day of our trek, as we cross the Larke La Pass (5,106 m), the highest point of the Manaslu Circuit. We walk slowly and steadily, taking frequent short breaks to rest and enjoy the views.
As we approach the top, colorful prayer flags welcome us at Larke La Pass, where we’re rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. It’s a special moment and a great achievement to stand here.
After spending some time at the pass, we begin a long and steep descent toward Bimthang. The trail is rocky and can be slippery, especially if there is snow. As we descend, the landscape changes soon we’re walking past open slopes and into alpine forests.

This path is very beautiful, so we take more time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the natural scenery as we walk.
After lunch, the trail descends further before climbing slightly to reach the quiet village of Goa. Goa is a charming place surrounded by terraced fields and peaceful natural surroundings.
After arriving in Goa, we rest and enjoy the calm atmosphere. It’s a relaxing end to the day after crossing the high pass the day before, giving us time to recover and appreciate the beauty of the valley.

From Tilije, the path gradually descends further through small settlements until we reach Thonje. Here, we go through a final checkpoint before officially entering the Annapurna region. Just a short walk past Thonje brings us to Dharapani, a lively junction village where the Annapurna and Manaslu trails meet. Dharapani has good guesthouses, shops, and even access to vehicles. We notice a change in the trail's atmosphere as it becomes busier with other trekkers and locals.
